It is my privilege to welcome you to International School Laren (ISL), a dynamic and inclusive international learning community. Founded in 2018, our school is situated in the picturesque region of Het Gooi, where we have established a distinctive educational environment that serves families from around the world.
International School Laren is an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, providing educational continuity through both the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). As a government-subsidized institution within the Dutch public education system, we operate under the auspices of Stichting Alberdingk Thijm Scholen and are guided by an experienced Board of Directors.
Our mission centers on empowering students to grow as compassionate, curious and critical thinkers who discover their purpose. We believe that asking meaningful questions holds greater value than simply possessing answers, and we nurture curiosity as the cornerstone of lifelong learning. To ensure every student feels a sense of immediate belonging, we employ a house system that connects new students with peers across all year levels and classes. Each incoming student is paired with a buddy and assigned a dedicated mentor who provides guidance and support to both the student and their family. Additionally, we share our campus facilities with a Dutch bilingual MYP school, creating valuable opportunities to bridge international and local perspectives. Through our After School Clubs program, students are encouraged to explore their talents and interests while building friendships across the community.
