Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students take on the roles of delegates representing different countries. During MUN conferences, they debate global issues, deliver speeches, collaborate on resolutions, and negotiate with other delegates—all while defending the interests and policies of the nation they represent.

At our school, we have a Model United Nations club. We focus on critical thinking, public speaking, and research, all based on modern conflicts that connect to global issues. How, you may ask? Our club meets 1-2 times a week during lunchtime to socialize and prepare for events across the Netherlands. We go to events around 4 times a year all run by other school's MUN clubs. Examples from previous years include the International School of Hilversum, the International School of Arnhem, and more. At these events, our students represent a nation and its geopolitical standing on the given issue, delivering speeches, leading discussions, and debating topics ranging from child labour to overdevelopment.
